This is how I got my hulk for the equivalent of $7503 new from an AD here in the uk.....I placed a deposit on my hulk BEFORE the last price rise, after about 6MONTHS I bought a single share in the parent company of the AD and sat back and waited for my shareholder discount card. I then went to the AD with my discount card and secured a 10 per cent discount off of the OLD list price as they had to honour the price at the time of my deposit...by now the list price was £5660ish...I purchased for £4760 so saved a grand.....not bad methinks!

Good for you.

Not a terribly repeatable process for all the discount hounds tho.

Even for someone who has access to many grey and regular dealers here in NYC, I think I am just going to reach out to DavidSW for mine, as I am pretty much done with trying to hunt one down in the general NYC metro area and I am not going to deal with a grey on 47th street, the prices there for the LV are insane.

Perhaps in suburbia it may be easier to secure these discounts. Ah well. What worries me more is if they are going to start throttling the supply of this watch as was mentioned earlier in this thread (although I always take this type of info from any AD source with a huge grain of salt)

Maybe the market is different here than other parts of the country or I'm just presenting myself in the right way but I bought two TT ceramic subs in 2 years. Both were at ADs that I'd never bought from and got 15% off one and 16% the other.

The last one I bought from is expecting me to buy either LV or a GMTii in 3-4 weeks. He offered me 14% off GMT and LV at list. I'm pretty sure he'll do SOMETHING for me if I can tell him I can get the LV elsewhere for $7,500. If not I can try some other AD's or buy here.

The best time to negotiate is when you dont HAVE to have something and are willing to walk and/or wait.

Finally, one of the local AD's had just sold his LV and told me he was expecting another in since "this is part of their required inventory now". If that's the case then maybe they're not going to slow production? Who knows.

Good move. I am in NYC as well and there is no way you will get a discount at a NYC AD. To be honest I have never seen an LV Ceramic in an AD here in Manhattan. You might be able to find one in another borough but not Manhattan. So I went the DavidSW route as well. Smart move on your part.

I called my AD and told him that I'd take it today or Monday if he can get the price down low enough. I told him if not I'll wait the 3-4 weeks and see what's out there then.

He said he's going to call me back later today. Crossing my fingers. I'm going on vacation soon and would love to bring this with me.

Two Tone is a different story. Not nearly as popular and skews to an older set by and large. They move much slower than SS.

Sad to say, he did call and they are not willing to budge a dollar right now. So I'll be reaching out to a few others in the next few days.

Slim chance that I'll have it by vacation though.

Call a TRF seller and you could have one on wrist next week...at a discount.

most likely very little, but he can probably score me a Near Mint model that could at least save a few hundred dollars from MSRP...and given the last two watches I have gotten from him have been in such great condition, I would trust him before anyone else. I may shop around when I visit my parents in Maryland next month and see what the market is like down there.

I can be patient on this one since they are still being produced, but the itch to have it on the wrist makes for a difficult wait overall

For a few hundred bucks its not even worth it. Might as well buy from an AD.

I now have the itch and I REALLY want to get this thing on my wrist before I fly to Punta Cana on Thursday morning. I'm talking to a few TRF sellers who have them at a discount and if a deal isn't done by Monday I'll be doing some more rounds at some local-extended local AD's.

Lingering and posting on TRF all day does nothing for the itch but make it stronger and stronger and stronger!

Yeah, a lot has changed in almost a decade.

$TSLA was going for less than 1/100 of today's price

In the past it was frowned upon to bump an old thread. Good to see at least some things don’t change…

I gotta say, usually the old thread bump is aggravating, but this was kinda funny. Not only do I recall the time these were at every AD, but every other thread on TRF was either how great the dial was or how ugly the green was. I would love to know how many of those green haters now own one since it has obtained some "fame", so to say.

9 year old thread like we don't see something about price and is it a good investment at least once a day.

IBTL! I bought mine Brand New from AD on 6/1/2012 for $8,550 out the door (w/ the Sales Tax of $614.97 actually showing on the receipt as being credited back for discount). For the Historians out there, that is also the official date that Rolex announced their 1st price increase in several years. So not only did I get a credit on the sales tax, but also got the Pre 10% price increase price!

I got mine for 12% off in 2013.

Wasn't too hard back then. Who knows what will happen in the future, it could all come crashing down but I will still have and enjoy this watch.

Just checked the receipt. £5,500 / $7,577 USD
