I've owned several BMWs, and really like them. I've owned several Audis, and really like them even more. Depends on what appeals most to you, but I love the comfort, the interiors, and the looks of the Audis.
Currently drive a 2.0T A4, but had the good fortune to spend a day at the track with the new A4. It's phenomenal.:

I think you got it backwards... Audi is KING of AWD, Subaru is the Prince.

Audis do have some of the best interiors in the business. They always get top marks from the various car magazines.

While I think Audi has a great AWD platform, I believe Subaru perfected it IMO.

I second the G37 coupe. My dad has one and it will blow by most other cars on the road. It's shockingly good for the price. If I wasn't a new dad with 2 kids, I would get this car in a heartbeat. So much fun to drive and it has a stealthiness to it because most people look at the car and don't realize how fast/quick it is.

I guess it kinda depends on your budget.
RWD 4-door for me would be new BMW M3. Best bang for buck AWD performance would be the new Subaru Impreza STi.

Amg Mercedes c class. OK no manual transmission . I went to a track day with Amg and believe me you don't need manual.
The amg drivers were using the paddle shift on the wheel to change .I cant tell you much more as not soiling my pants was my main concern...At the time Great car though...... |

I never liked the flappy paddles until I test drove an M3 with DCT. Very impressive to say the least. Perfect shifts, blips the throttle when downshifting, launch control... Great technology, but something about running through the gears with a manual just brings a smile to my face.
