Two Rolex watches are better than one. In the world of Rolex $4,000 is an insignificant sum.

Is this an investment thread or watch thread.
From a watch thread answer no way, blnr is better and an exp II on top is icing on the cake. If investment thread… who cares buy crypto or something and post on investment board. |

From your replies to previous comments, I think there's a very good chance you will regret making that deal. You are honest to acknowledge the "hype"/"hard to get appeal" of the potential acquisition and acknowledge that if you could readily acquire that watch from an AD, you would do so...and keep the ones you already have.
It would be different if you really no longer wanted the two watches you have and just wanted to settle down with one perfect watch and this Pepsi was that watch for you and has long been your dream watch. Yet, you have seen it before and weren't truly blow away by it. I also suspect that if you really wanted to make that deal, you would have already jumped at it and wouldn't need advice from anyone on the forum. So, perhaps, there is a nagging voice saying "this isn't the right move for me to make", and, to offset the temptation of the Pepsi, you're turning to "objective" voices to urge you to get down from the ledge. You have two great Rolex timepieces and my advice is to keep them. Take off those bloody stickers and enjoy both. They are quite hard to get, too, and there are plenty of folks who wish they could land either of them. And, all that aside, they are great watches, every bit the equal of the tempting Pepsi. Incidentally, my advice would be the same if you switched references in your question. Let's say you had the Explorer and the Pepsi and were being tempted by the Batman. Or, you had the two GMTs and were tempted by the Explorer. It's not about the reference. If you do the deal, after the emotional high of new acquision wears off, you'll probably find yourself before too long thinking, "damn, that was a mistake." So, get down off the ledge, unsticker that one watch...it's NEW...wind it, wear it and have a great day... They still make the Pepsi and maybe one will come your way through some other means. |

Id value a stickered NOS BLNR and a worn jubilee BLRO about the same. The dealer is pretty much offering you 4k for a new Exp2 black, which is ridiculous.

I would stick with what you have because you would lose out. IMHO, the BLRO isn't worth much more than the BLNR, so it's like selling your Explorer II for a little over $4000.
Actually, I think the BNLR looks nicer than the BLRO |

Nope. You have two great watches that IMO trump the one nice one. Also doesn’t seem financially like a good deal for you. Still you should do what you want to do regardless of my opinion!

Possible trade - need advice
I'd keep your 2. Wear the BLNR to your AD and ask about the possibility of a Pepsi or whether you should trade for it.

I have a BLRO and had the BLNR for a while along with the Pepsi. I would not do this trade. While I prefer the BLRO to the BLNR, it isn't a big enough preference to also give up the Explorer 2. I'm still waiting to get a black dial Explorer 2 from the AD that got me the BLRO in early 2019 and a 116500LN last year.

I don’t lien the explorer 2 and I prefer the blro to the blnr but I would never do that trade. The blro and blnr are the same watch except the bezel so two for one to get an almost identical watch no

Bad deal, try to negotiate. Why you gotta come out of pocket $4k?

Don't do it.
If you have a relationship with an AD then you are getting screwed. All 3 have basically equal MSRP so you are giving 2 for 1 because you want instant gratification. You should tell your AD you will trade your BLNR for a BLRO and that will shoot you up their list. They will appreciate that you are giving it back to them instead of being greedy and flipping it. That way you keep your Explorer II for a little bit of patience. |

IMO….Stick with your two, wear the BLNR, and get a jubilee bracelet for it to switch it up

I would not do that trade. You already have the BLRO movement in your explorer and the BLNR is (while prior caliber) is the same watch with different colors. The BLRO is not worth current market price.
