My favorite Rolex…

Happy Sunday everyone!

I bought it 5 or 6 years ago and to this day it is my favorite Rolex I have ever owned.

It was originally purchased by the grandson of Walt Disney and that’s why I nicknamed it “Mickey”.

Chatting with a Rolex executive he mentioned that it is super rare to have a dial with enamel on the markers, I understood that not many Rolex watches have hand finished details like that.

What’s your favorite Rolex and why? :)

Wow, what a precious timepiece!

I always love the special timepieces like this one.

Recently I just got RG GMT Master II with Sapphire and Ruby, I think this one called "The Patriot", I love it.

If I was Walt Disney's grandson I'd get that and take unlimited rides on Space Mountain.

Great watch.
My favorite still is probably 116500black. Why? It’s was for my son, wore it when he was born.

Sure would be fun to see all those diamonds in the sunlight!!
My favorite that I own in my BLNR. Favorite Rolex that I would wear is the Ice Blue Platona.

That’s a very nice one OP. Very unique. Is it 36mm or 40mm?

I assume 36mm, but am curious to confirm

40mm :) I heard that there were less than 5 pieces made (and a few more with blue and green markers)

Oh wow! That’s a grail for sure at 40mm. Very very lovely. I’d love to see it in the sun.

I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. Thanks for sharing it here

I had just come from Beverly Hills and we saw some disturbing crimes on the news including a watch mugging of a husband and wife. Kind of frightening.

After dinner with our kids at the Westfield Century City Mall, things were closing and when we walked to the exit near our hotel, we found an armed guard and they had strung barbed wire across where we needed to go. He directed us to take the escalator to the garage and then exit up an entrance ramp? We only had a couple of blocks to walk but it definitely made us feel uneasy.

My favorite Rolex is a gilt underline 1675 which a friend found, enjoyed and sold to me. I’m a GMT guy. That’s my favorite reference. And this one is the pinnacle of GMTs, for me. I’ve had Several PM GMTs. But the age and the story of this piece make it special to me.
Merry Christmas!

My favorite Rolex is the one I don’t own. 16618 is my all time favorite. I missed one 2 years ago, got caught up in life and 2 years later they tripled. I was so bummed because I just decided to get one. 2 years ago 15k and now 25k. Not looking for new, my sweet spot is late 90’s up to the early 2000’s. Something about those years in my mind.

Love the provenance but do not really love the watch. Those blinged out watches are great for me to look at but could never wear one and do not think I will ever own one. But to each hs own!
