Richemont group consistently does customers dirty. We all know the sins of Panerai, I don't think we need to go there. More recently they implemented the application piece program and bundling for ALS after forcing them to birth the odysseus, limited edition straps for the VC OS, killed quality control at JLC and Cartier, started sharing movements across the brands while calling them "in house" and on and on. My favorite is the consolidation of the service centers so your VC perpetual is going to the same place as a Baume and Mercier.

Well, Patek has increased their capacity by circa 20,000 watches (at least 25%) since they dropped the Geneva Seal and quality has demonstrably suffered. If one went back 20+ years ago, I would have argued that Patek's watches were better finished than VC. That's certainly been inverted since then.

I do agree that Richemont's service has suffered (it took a year and three trips, the final to Switzerland, for them to get my semi-complicated JLC correct and that was with a number of new parts after some idiot in Texas mangled them). I do have more faith in ALS and VC service, but it's still a question mark.

As much as I like the Richemont Group's watches, I can't totally disagree with this. I am hopeful that this improves.
