Change of heart????
As previously posted, I'm looking towards my next purchase (either a SS GMTIIc or Yacht-master)
Well, having been to my local AD today, I got a bit of a surprise. They had both the above watches in stock, however, after trying them on, I wasn't blown away! The Yacht-master felt a little 'blingy' (apologies JJ) and, although I did like the GMT, I didn't love it. After wearing the DS for a few months, both pieces felt small and light, which is only to be expected. After chatting with my dealer, he suggested a Milgauss. Now I've never considered one, but after trying the white dial version, it really got my heart pumping. I think this piece is amazing. It's simple, uncluttered design looked stunning and extremely smart. The AD is getting the green crystal version for me to look at next week, but I think the white could be the one. The Milgauss doesn't seem to get much of a mention on here, so are there any owners out there with feedback, good or bad?? Cheers, Rob

I had the chance of a YM when I bought my DD a few years back and although most will say the DD is definitely more "blingy" that was what put me off the YM (also apologies to JJ).....I just had the feeling that maybe I wouldn't be able to look at it long term on my own wrist even though I still think it's an amazing piece, some watches suit and others don't......the GMT II C now that's a different story for me......
After all's said and done if the Milgauss is the one that smiles at you then that's the baby to go for....simple as that....and of course it's also a great watch....

Try to get a look at the black dial Milgauss (non-GV) as well. In my 'umble opinion this is the best of the three - matt black dial, white markers, a splash of orange... gorgeous. Have been tussling between this and a GMT IIc for months........
Cheers

Rob, it's all about what, as you put it, get's your heart going. I've never cared for the Milgauss myself, but I'm not the one wearing it! It is a fantastic watch, and regardless of the popularity or whatever any of us say you SHOULD wear, if it sings to you, then I say go for it! Hope it works out when you try it on, early congrats and don't forget to post pictures!

I'm a fan of the white Millie. I agree that it has certain traits that make it a nice addition to a collection. It wouldn't be in my top five watches with the absence of a date etc, but mine gets some quality weekend wrist time.
Not my pics, but I liked them so a saved them. |

Totally agree.. On the wrist you cant even really notice the second hand ,the lightning bolt look doesn't even stand out that much. same thing with the ROLEXROLEXROLEX on the inner ring that some people dont really like too. Great shots of the white millie

Had a look at the white dial version at yet another AD today!
This IS definitely going to be my next model. It was in the window and really stood out from the others! If anybody is interested, they also had a SS GMTIIc available and awaiting a new home. AD - Goldsmiths, Chester, UK

I have plenty of black dialed watches so I too thought the white Millie stood out not only among my other watches, but among watches in general.
