Thank you everyone for the input as well as insight into this. It turns out I either got confused and assumed the wrong date (I had just gotten into town from a transatlantic flight), or something else that I made by accident. I can confirm the date changes always after midnight, usually within 5 minutes. For example, it changed around 12:04 AM last night!

Now I got to deal with the first few annoying scratches until the patina develops more and we're set!
