Hi guys

As you may or may not know I have been eagerly awaiting the Deeps Sea to go alongside my V serial SD. I picked it up yesterday and at first sight loved the watch and was very happy with my choice. When I got home and tried it on again I became unsure and though I had made an error and I decide to list the Deep Sea for sale on the forum last night. I decided in my wisdom to put the watch on my wrist last night whilst at home for the evening on the off chance I changed my mind!!! What can I say!! After consideration and heavy discussions with Marke off this forum I decided to take thw stickers off and wear the watch to work - END OF CHAT COMPLETELY!!!! I am totally hooked but the strange thing is after putting father and son side by side I feel the same about both!! Both equally great in their own special way. All I can say is if the watch appealed to you at first you may be unsure but boy oh boy does it grow on you quickly and you find yourself playing with all the great features the watvch has to offer. I have attached a few pictures for comparisons (please forgive the poor quality pictures). Thanks again Marke yet another to add to the collection!!!

I would go for the old one.

You cannot teach new tricks to an old dog

just like lots of families, the youngs grow up to be taller and bigger than their fathers....

I too agree, if I had a choice I would stick with the original SD. Only problem is the Deep Sea is just too darn good too

Love them both, but I favor the DSSD because of all the technical upgrades and advancements. By the way, the DSSD look good on you! What is your wrist size?

Thank you, took me a little while to get to grips with the sheer size but loving it now. My wrist size is 7.5 inch and I have quite happily worn 45.5 mm planet ocean chrono's in the past but this feels bigger somehow!!

I actually tried one on at the Rolex Store in Costa Mesa, CA. I had my SD on & I was able to compare (as I was seriously thinking of purchasing one), the DSSD is just huge.

Great watch & a real tank, but I opted to pass it up at that time. I think I need more convincing! Your pics are tempting me once again.

I hear so many people here saying "My god, this watch is huge".

Personally, I don't think it's that big at all. Yes its larger than the other Rolex sport models, but compare it with Panerai, Breitling and Omega etc and it doesn't appear oversized at all.

I suppose it may not suit those with very small wrists, however, in my opinion it's a fantastic piece of engineering, that wears well on any occasion!

I think it looks great on my 7.5 inch wrist now after getting used to it. Personally I just think it is so much bigger than anything Rolex has ever produced and far bigger than the SD - that was the shock when compared it. I am used to wearing PO 45.5 mm and never even thought about it but the depth of the watch is substantial to say the least. Nevertheless it is an outstanding tool watch no question!!!

I still prefer the old SD, but congrats on the DSSD! I can certainly attest to the magic of a Rolex once you put it on!
