Thank you! It's one of my favorite watches. Its also an interesting watch because unlike many square or rectangular watches which house round movements (often sourced from another watch in a company's line up), this one has a very cool rectangular movement. Cheers!

Really have to go to a Patek Gondolo to see a movement as well designed as that for a rectangular case, and the Cartier is more beautifully decorated.

That is really the perfect black tie watch. Not too big, not too small, platinum for some nice weight, and the gloss black alligator strap to match patent leather shoes. I would be proud to have that in my collection.

Personally, I think a manual wind with no date in a precious metal is the best Tank to get. I really do wish Cartier still made the Privee Collection. Those movements were the best Cartier has ever done.

Well I completed the tour of Cartiers today by tracking down a 23.5 example. Ultimately, I like both the 23 and the 25. I think it will come down to waiting on a deal I don’t think I will see again. Either a new one for such a low price from a reputable dealer that I can’t believe it, or an older one with a Paris dial in great condition that is manual wind. I think I would be happy with either.

Here's my Rose Gold Tank Solo 34.8mm x 27.4mm on the way to work this morning.



My skin tone is neutral so anything works for me.

You can ignore - some people don't like to share - but it might be helpful to let us know your wrist size. My wrist is 5 3/4".

I've tried my wife's 31mm x 24.4mm and it works, but I find the strap molds to the wrist, so we don't share.

If it means anything she likes the 34.8mm x 27.4mm better on my wrist in real life, but in photos the smaller looks better.

Men buying watches cataloged as unisex could be considered common or at least not uncommmon in the smaller wrist community, buying a watch completely marketed as a woman's watch is uncommon because even with a smaller wrist the watch usually has some feminine characteristics.
After this post i ended up with a reverso in the original size. That size is currently marketed as the mid size unisex and will show up in the mens and womans section of JLC but it was the largest size available up to the early 2000's i believe.
Ultimately get what you like.

thanks, yeah i chose this bc the features are pretty unisex, just that the case is tiny. hard to find something that is subtle with skinny wrists.

On my end, for reliability, nothing out of the ordinary from this tank (in house movement) or any of our older Cartiers (which I think have eta movements). Quality wise, we have no complaints

I have been looking for the Tank XL Privee (CPCP) that Dino944 has. The holy grail of Tanks. But after about six years of looking, I went with the Tank XL that ran from about 2010 to 2018, reference W1560003. It is 29mm by 39mm in rose gold.
