I’d take a 11 over a 12 all day long

Personally I find the "hulk" the least iconic sub. Its got both the ugly, thick lugs and a washed out garden furniture plastic coloured bezel
And no, I'm not joking

12 series is the most comfortable Submariner I’ve worn. Almost as balanced a design as the 5 digit (or older refs), but with a better engine. 11 series kinda looks like it’s puffing out it’s chest a little to me, like the guy at the gym who only does arm and shoulder work outs...
EDIT: For folks with wrists 8 inches and larger, the bigger form factor of the 11 series may be a good thing. |

Me too. The 11 series was, and still is IMO, the most perfect Sub ever made (for me).

I do strongly dislike 97 or so percent of the Subs ever made since the beginning of time but that's because I really dislike the cyclops. I won't buy a watch with the cyclops but even that doesn't rise to the level of hate.

If I was in the market for a Smurf for example, the lug size would not change my decision either way. It is just if you can get a new 12 at MSRP or a used 11, the decision is easy.

Big fan of the 11661x series, thicker lugs included.

I have a 116610 and 116618 LN. I really love them. The current series is fantastic as well, but not significantly different enough for me to want to trade up from the prior models.

The next thread you start should be "Why do collectors HATE the Hulk and Daytona? Because they are good investments?"
That will get you lots of views. Cheers. |

Both the 11 and 12 series subs look almost identical, 99.9999% of the population don't care / notice the thick lugs which is a niche thing even among watch collectors. The DNA of the 12 series comes from its predecessor who was the first sub to use ceramic bezel, glidelock clasp, and the maxi case, the 12 series brought nothing new to the table...
I own a Hulk and a 41mm Sub ND, and personally I don't feel the difference, if anyone gets the chance to acquire either one at good price point don't think twice... |

They are nearly the same watch unless someone literally holds their watch 3 inches away from their eyeball and prefers to read the lugs instead of the time. One is a minor refinement of the other. |

Never heard as well…
I heard totally the opposite evaluations! The 116610 is the most masculine of the series…and the most particulate case… Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk Pro |
