I love chronographs and it’s a great looking watch. And like you, I use my chrono function quite a lot, both at work and away. I’m curious though about a few things.
Do you find the reset mechanism a hassle to use? I believe every time you activate the function it needs to be reset in a relatively complicated procedure. How much of a pain is this or does it become second nature? Do you find the timing range of ten minutes to be limiting? I think it’s about the shortest timespan of any chronograph I can think of. Cheers and congrats on a hell of a watch. Ross |

Awesome comment. Pretty much summed up what I thought. I had been looking for a Deep Sea JC. Stopped by the AD one day for some jewelry for the wife. Said hi to the SA and discussed where I may be regarding wait time. So later we were handling an order for my wife, with one of the jewelry SA. My guy comes up holding a YM II and wants me to look at it. So I did. He had brought it from the safe to offer. I have to say, it was an impressive looking watch. As someone else said, seeing it in person was quite different from pic of it. The complication itself is quite amazing too. Alas, I turned it down because my heart was set on the JC, whose dial I find to be the best in the Rolex catalog. One month later I got the call. Early April 2021 I got my Deep Sea JC and never looked back. Until now, LOL! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For what it’s worth, don’t listen to the trolls. That looks great on you. A big watch looks big on anyone. If we ran into each other our conversations would start with “great looking watch” and never once would I think the watch you like is anything but the watch you like. Congrats on one of the best complications in the Rolex line. Not to mention it is a stunner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The YM2 countdown timer is pretty simple and intuitive to use. I’ve never found it to be a pain in the ass to set up. It does become second nature over time because of the novel way the timer has to be set. (Novelty tends to help me remember better) It just needs to be set once, anywhere between 1-10 minutes. Although it may seem tricky the first time someone uses it. The 2 SAs at my AD needed help from a senior colleague with it haha. Starting / pausing / resetting the timer is the same as other chronographs. Depress top pusher (start / pause) & lower pusher (reset / fly back / forward to nearest minute). Regarding the timing range, it is very limited but that is by design since it is technically a countdown timer. I’ve yet to find myself in a situation that requires timing >10 minute intervals. It’s a big, bold and fun watch to wear. Loving every minute it’s on my wrist! |

I’d like to add that if you do wish to track 1 hour intervals, you can simply align the timer’s red second hand with the minute hand. That does the trick for me. |

Congrats!
I like the watch but simply can’t get past the YACHT MASTER font on the bezel. |
