I rotate two at a time, every other day. The Explorer and the sub for a month, and then the Explorer with the Dweller the next month. No man left behind.

That's a great trio but at some level made me ponder why on earth we (I include myself here) buy so many watches that look so similar... But hey, they are not the same!

My wife asked me that exact question. I then bombarded her with the complete history of each reference in agonizing detail.

This cracked me up lol. My poor fiancé knows more about Han’s Wilsdorf’s life than most Rolex sales associates

Beautiful trio OP!

I had a deposit down for the yellow OP41 since it’s release a year and a half ago. Never got the chance to purchase it before discontinuation. I switched my deposit over to the no date sub thinking I would have to wait it out another year. My wonderful AD must have felt my pain and called me up a week later with the pleasant surprise of my shinny new no date. I guess I’ll have to add a Polar Explorer to mix it up.

Which size fits the best? I swear by my GMT and don't think I could pull off a Skydweller.

Love Rolex but I do ponder over the similarities between some of the ‘Professional’ range and what I’d gain by adding another to my little DJ/Submariner collection, maybe I need to revisit a TT model which I have balked at buying this would give me some colour diversity.

I have 7.25 inch wrists. My best fit is the relatively thin and broad Explorer. After getting used to the wonderful heft of the SD43 that I wore every day for a year, the sub is barely noticeable on the wrist and outrageously thin. My favorite part of all three is the broad bracelets (21 on sub, 22 on Explorer and SD43). They really flow well with the case.

I decided to get the no date Sub because of its simplicity and visual balance without the cyclops. In contrast to the beefy SD43. To other people they seem to be the same watch, but to me they are polar opposites.

The Skydweller is 44. That is a big jump from a 40 GMT. That would be too big for me for extended wear. Fantastic watch though.

I consider the dial on the sport watches to be perfect. You can read them instantly. My days of being able to read the face of the beautiful Daytona without glasses are numbered (53 years old). There isn’t another watch out there that interests me.

You have a good combo. Unless you need a GMT function on a watch, you need nothing else. If you want a chronograph, the white faced Zenith with the black ceramic is obtainable and IMO superior to the Daytona. The outer ceramic dial is for 10ths of seconds instead of the relatively useless tach on the Daytona.

If I was just starting with watch collecting today, I think the first three in would be those pictured in that trio.

Very nice!

Great trio! Sounds like you wear them on a good rotation, but which is your favorite? I’m going to assume the E2.

It seems like every time I put each on, I think to myself "oh yeah, this is definitely my favorite".

That's a great place to be! But if you had to part with two of them scenario. Which one are you keeping?

SD43

I’ve been wanting one since I was a kid and saw it in National Geographic advertisements.

I have a Speedmaster for my Chronograph, perfectly clear to tell the time for my 60 year old eyes, oh and it’s a bit iconic as well.

As iconic as it gets. Love that watch. The black and white contrast and clean large face make it very easy to read. I do stand corrected; I want that watch too.

On Memorial Day weekend? I’m glad you like your watches, but I find the comparison (use of BoB and “leave no man behind”) to be in poor taste.

That’s hilarious and relatable. I have a Black Bay, just picked up a Sub. My wife noted their similarities, I pulled the same card. It worked!
