My grandpappy always told me, don’t count other people’s money or watch stocks. Words to live by.

Or why is this watch better than the other one? (just a small advice, use the search function. I can promise you that the same question has already been asked 10K times already through the years...) I know I'm probably stepping on some toes here now, but this is getting a bit silly. Anyhow, I guess I'll just return to reading "incoming, today's watch, why X watch is better than Y watch, what watch to wear when meeting the parents for the first time, what watch to bring to down town X city". Those threads tends to give me so much more knowledge regarding what is actually happening in the watch world. I didn't post for over 2 years. Should probably go back into hiding again ;) Cheers, Joe

I visit his website once in a while just for the laughs. Still requesting absolutely delusional prices.

But anyway, if greys think that speaking about the reality of the market is the origin of their issues but not what is happening with ECB (Italy and Greece), FED, BOJ, BOE, etc. Good luck to them... I am a little saddened because I love reading TRF but the mods/admins' actions seem to not serve the diverse audience but a sub group of actors (greys) to the detriment of the majority. I hope that the admins will understand that letting this kind of conversation adds value and credibility to the forum. A famous IT youtuber Linus Tech Tips which has +14M subs addressed that issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR5xwPPzmY4 |

Why should Greys care that prices are going down, if they are buying inventory at commensurately lesser prices from watch owners? Isn't their margin the same in either case? |

Not if they spent most of their liquidity buying at the peak. A lot of amateur greys were born the past couple of years.

Because they keep a bunch in inventory and rather than have inventory profits when prices continue to rise, they have inventory losses as prices decline. In a steadily declining market (not saying this is one), it can be hard to make enough margin if you're buying last week and selling next week and prices are eroding in between.

The funny part was Grey dealers stocking up on them because of the speculation of it being discontinued. |

I know. I’m with you there. I guess what I was getting at is that a watch I don’t have much interest in, to others may have tremendous value. As far as hoarding watches, no thanks. I only have two wrists and when I wear more than one at a time, my wife says it looks tacky lol. YMMV
