Any suggestions for watch shopping in Dubai

Hello friends,

I will be traveling to Dubai this week for few days, also planning for Rolex hunting at the airport and the city, any suggestions as it is my first trip.

I appreciate feedback.

Cheers….

Not sure if this is any help at all but Dubai airport and Dubai mall Rolex boutiques had nothing except the odd lady datejust when I was there recently. All other models are allocations and any hot models they’re not taking any expressions of interest for. That being said, YMMV.

Are you a Sheikh in the UAE. Does your car in the UAE have a 3-digit license plate - or better yet, a 2-digit license plate. When Ferrari produces a new model, do you receive the very first car off the production line - or, worst case scenario, the second one.

If not, I'd recommend skipping the Rolex search and enjoying the multitude of really interesting things that Dubai and the UAE offer...

You might find a DJ36 if you're lucky but that's about it

I have been to Dubai very frequently for the last 2 years, at least once a month.
Every time I walk through the airport, I ask Rolex if they have any watches, or sold or had any, the answer is no, they have a few lady’s watch but no sports etc.
But it s free to stop on your way out, so please do.
Also , same story at the Dubai mall, you will see a line up of 25 people outside, but they don t have any Watch ,unless you are looking for platinum, gold watches, diamonds.
Hopefully things might change. Same in London UK, no watches. Good luck. I hope I am wrong.

I've been on the list for a 126334/62610 with Ahmed Seddiqi and Sons for a year. I just got the email today that this timepiece has been allocated. However, I'm nowhere near Dubai at the moment and couldn't possibly make it there in three days to pick it up.

This allocation is yours if you want it. I don't want anything in return, just that when you buy it, buy it as a friend of mine so that my relationship with the AD can grow further and I can get another allocation for a watch that I really want down the line.

Let me know, I can email them on your behalf to figure something out. Price they have quoted me today for this is AED 41,760 including 5% VAT.

Ok forget about Rolex in Dubai, I go there at least 2ce a year and I know what I am talking about. Forget about all the malls, shops and etc, you will not get anything. The only hope is Dubai Airport but its luck also, a buddy of mine bought a moonphase Celine there on his last trip.

As a resident I would say don’t go out of your way hunting as you’ll just be wasting your time. You could walk by the airport counter but it will be empty.

Went through Dubai International Last week
Rolex Boutique was EMPTY
While i was browsing Omegas and Panerais, I must have seen 4 different groups of people walk up to the counter and then get turned away just as fast

Plenty of other brands to check out, though

Don't even bother. Probably one of the richest market overall for Rolex.
