Warranty card and reference number

Newbie question from somebody who just got into AP and bought his first watch at the grey market. And pls excuse if this has been discussed already.

Why there is no reference number on the new warranty card. I actually could find any reference to the number in the paperworks at all and it seems all watches come like this. Does this not generally leave a lot of room for fraud?

Not sure I quite understand your question, but my warranty cards have the serial number and warranty number on the card.

With warranty number and serial number you can register the watch on APs website (which will then show model/reference and warranty end date). So, on the contrary, this makes for a more valuable test of authenticity than printing the reference number of the card.
