PAM210 Help with Repair

Hi,
Long story short, my PAM 00210 was in for service, something broke while winding. My understanding is that the crown was replaced. Upon return I noticed that while unscrewing the crown, there was tactile and audible clicking. This happened while still engaged with the threads, and not in the winding position.

This is completely new to me. Been wearing and winding for 15 years, and unless I am absolutely crazy, I do not recall that at all.

Can someone confirm?

To reiterate, while unscrewing the crown (counter clockwise) from fully closed position, am feeling and hearing engagement with the winding mechanism. The same sound and click you'd hear if fully unscrewed and in the winding position (sprung out from the threads).

Thanks

I have one.

Upon unwinding the Unitas of that watch will want to pop out to position 1 and wind quite easily. There will be some audible ‘winding’ sound from the crown but it’ll be smooth and more 120clicks than 60clicks as an analogy. If it isn’t smooth it could be the pos 1 is only partially engaging. I’d pull it out to pos 2 and adjust the 2 hands forward only for about 12 rotations and then repeat the sequence from locked crown to pos1 and see from there. But after a service it should be near perfect in function.

Not perfectly like it’s free spinning but certainly even and consistent until fully wound. Don’t force it when it feels getting to the end.
