Does it look correct? I’m not sure, I don’t know what time it is there...

Rolex doesn't make them so there isn't a way to "authenticate"

Do you like this one? Does it meet what you think it should?

It has a spelling mistake (or it would if it was in the UK).

Because this one might actually be a licensed clock once supplied to dealers. Most of the clocks posted here are unlicensed China-made garbage bought online from AliExpress, TaoBao or eBay, etc.

Based on the this site info and it’s current address vs yours address , it appears yours was made pre 1972. Or could be a reproduction of one made pre 1972.

Interesting read. https://www.pamcompany.com/

The age of the mechanism and appearance of the cord/plug definitely put it at pre-1972 ( it even smells older than that )

Nice find! It’s a good looking piece. That plug looks 50’s . Is this the clock https://www.abell.com/auction-lot/ro...ock_0DF4F7A87E

Not so -ize is still a valid spelling, it is only relatively recently (possibly even after the clock was made) that -ise has become the more common spelling.

Actually the Oxford English Dictionary switched to -ize in the mid 1990s, just as I was getting started in publishing as a lowly proofreader. In America it's almost always -ize (I think advertise and televise are still exceptions) but in Britain it has gone back and forth over the years. Many British newspapers used -ize in the 19th century. The -ize ending comes from Ancient Greek, while -ise is from the French, so -ize is actually older, though it might seem more modern/American.

Sorry, slow afternoon at the office :)

Gents, let's not get to ahead of ourselves or overthink this,
as it is clearly marked "Made in the U.S.A. "
and as such the American English spelling would be correct.

Ah, but you do need to think about it.

It was "Made" in the US, but perhaps intended for the UK market. In which case this could be a really rare clock with an error dial. Your $2000 investment may be worth 10 times that!

Yes, of course it's correct for the US or many other markets. I was just trying to steer away from the fact that it cost $2k
