In the end, the only thing that matters is that you can afford to pay for the Rolex watch. I doubt they care whether you earned your money singing and dancing or working towards a cure for cancer.

I think much of what is categorized as his "strangeness" later in life can be attributed to a professional and somewhat tortured childhood. What he lost as a child, he tried to gain as an adult. Nevertheless, he was a fantastic entertainer and the biggest icon of many people's childhoods, mine included. His story is tragic, and he will be missed by many.
