I was in Doha, Qatar for the FIFA world cup, and dropped by the Rolex AD (Laguna mall) and saw these pieces for sale (These are not display models BTW ). I went back a couple of days later and these were gone (I had no intention of buying any of the pieces) . So, things are getting better.

I got the same.

I submitted a ROI via the same email and received a follow up template “no stock” response (not surprised).

I’ll pop in store sometime this week and will update if positive.

They put me on the "expression of interest", I just think they are hedging their bets if the market caves in we get the call however I am no into catching a falling knife

Yeah I am aware of that, get you in and educate you about how the "system" works buy sh*t that they can't sell while they sell to the whales......still I think the market is softening to get an email like this.

Sh*tshow on steroids and I still can't believe people buy it, way to much free money around.

Many brokers out there are more than happy to facilitate a deal and take a $500 cut for their time, without having to lay out any cash. During the boom, that wasn't always the case. But, in reality, connecting buyers and sellers for a small cut is low risk and, if you have the network, easy money.

Not to lose the original point, though; new Rolex sport watches acquired at MSRP are still flipping for tidy profits.
I personally have become more “selective”. While the market was at the peak of insanity, I’d purchase almost any SS model I was offered by my AD, take a few months to decide if I bonded with it, and if not, sell it for a profit and move on to something else. Now there are only two watches I am pulling the trigger on if I get a call. Anything else will be a respectful decline and go to the next in line.

That's exactly what happened with my latest acquisition. It was not out for general sale but it was available to me, and I'm certainly no whale in terms of spend. Two previous Rolexes and a little bit of jewelry for the Mrs.
THIS

i experienced exaltly the same. They will try to keep the game going for a while, but exp II, Sea-Dwellers are no longer all spoken for, and sometime actually for sale even though they sit in cases as "display only"

But of course they will try to sell you a PM, or orther less in demand pieces first. And if they have doubt about you flipping it, they will let it sit a bit longer.

They are also starting to take names for a SS Sub from unknown custormers, so for sure it´s loosing up, even though it´s of cource different from AD to AD. Some AD´s still have more demand than supply.

You will already be able to get more or less all PM models within 6 month, with exeption of a few special dial models.

Last week I was in Wilson & Sons Jewelers in Scarsdale, NY. They are very nice people, from the 2 brothers, sales people and watchmakers (3). They had at least a dozen watches on display, all Exhibition pieces of course. They were all working models. I do not remember all the models nor took pics but there were a few ladies pieces, plus a Sub Date, Batman and to my surprise the green/black bezel GMT with the crown on the left side of the watch. I thought it was a stunning watch. The SA told me they had nothing to sell. So even if they have sport/professional models on display, does not mean they are shortly going to be available. They hope to get the warranty cards soon, then they can sell them, no timeframe.

The falling knives are the grey market.

Don’t see that a watch bought at MSRP would drop significantly in value.

Unless you are a flipper and only interested in buying watches to make money?

I have also seen not for sale, "working" models on display at various ADs in my travels.
Rolex CPO will get these back at one point I suppose.

Does anyone here think the economic situation in China has influenced the 'slightly' increased availability recently?
