RSC (London)

Hi

Does anyone who is UK based know if RSC in London pressure test on site? I’m up in a few weeks and may get a couple tested if it is doable.

Thanks in advance.

I’m out the country so thought I’d ask on here, if I don’t get an answer I’ll call when I’m back. If you want me to let you know the answer when I find out, let me know.

No it is not a walk in service they offer at RSC.

There is a Rolex accredited watchmaker nearby to St James that do that service while you wait - Russell Talerman.

I would assume they do but not as a walk in. Like op states look for a local accredited Rolex service location I’m sure they could help you out.

Thank you for all the information, I’ll enquire with the above options when I’m back. One of the things that makes a good forum.

I've walked in for bezel insert replacements in the past, no issues on the day.

But do contact them to check, pressure testing is very easy but they may have changed their policy on walk ins.

I will be in London this spring myself and wondered about getting an insert. Have they normally allowed you to keep the original? Thanks!

Yes, they will let you keep your original insert but they will charge you for that privilege, and they will charge you to install the insert as well. Buying and installing later was not an option. At least that was my experience at BH RSC. Of course, when I asked for a new bezel insert prior to the watch being serviced they would not sell me one without first servicing the watch, and no, I did not have it serviced at Rolex. I will further assume when I did purchase the insert later, that they put it on a timegrapher to check the movement prior to allowing me to purchase the insert.

On another note, I have a TT 1675 GMT and they (Rolex) would not even sell me an all brown insert as that one is for the all gold 1675/8 version. It was very strange because I went into Geary's (also in Beverly Hills and a Rolex AD) to hopefully bypass this ridiculousness and they too would not provide an all brown one but did say I could choose between an all black or the half and half brown and bronze version. Mine has a brown dial so the black version is not correct either. (Sorry) My description is already boring me as it is so long, but I will say I did finally get a new all brown insert from an EBAY seller and it was about $20 less than what I paid Rolex BH to sell, install, and allow me to keep my old one. I love a happy ending!

Do you recall the cost of buying, installing, and keeping your insert? Thanks!

Last time I was in around late 2019, they supplied an insert for my 16710 and allowed me retain the existing one for around £60 or thereabouts. This was after the tech guy "disappeared" with my watch for around 15 mins before coming back to advise me that he could do the switch, and then disappearing again for around the same time before bringing it back to me. Felt a bit strange at the time....maybe they were just "checking me out"....
