OP walks into the AD...
"Hi...one of your employees just died...but nevermind that, can I be put higher up on a new SA's list because I'm a repeat customer?" That's how this post is coming across OP.

I'm sorry about the passing of your SA...
Hopefully our AD kept good records.

I agrees its a tough crowd... OP i think some of us understand where your coming from regarding starting over in building the relationship. People are being a bit in their feelings about it so they seem to forget that these waitlist are years long at times and the relationships built keep your name in the game to get what you want.
So sure may they family of the person NONE OF US KNOW be at peace, but back to what we are here for which is watches.

Not sure why people are upset. this was not something I found out yesterday. It just hit me as I found out I want to get an update on the status that the guy I’ve been texting has now passed away. I wasn’t able to think properly because I was in shock when I heard the news and forgot to ask for any updates.

Sorry to hear that your SA has passed away, that's awful!
I can actually say that I have never experienced this, but I have had 5 locally lose their Rolex account when Rolex decided that they no longer fit their profile. Not quite the same thing, but definitely implies starting over with someone else. |

What was your timeline with your former SA? SAs generally don't make allocation decisions with Rolex, that is for management/ownership. If I were in your place, at some point, I would speak with the owner of the store and make a new contact with that person or another SA they direct to. This person's death may be a tough loss to the store, and they may be mourning and trying to re-organize.

Oddly enough the same thing happened to me last year. My SA passed away suddenly. Was a good guy, we became good friends. RIP.
In any case after the dust settled, I tried to re-establish a relationship and unfortunately that didn’t go anywhere. Crappy AD in the end. |

Sure this can't be real. Surely it's either a troll post, or a (bad taste) test by the OP to see how many will play up to the stereotypical 'cold-hearted a-hole' impression that many have of Rolex owners.
No higher-functioning adult with an ounce of empathy is seriously going to hear that an SA who they know personally since they're a repeat customer of theirs, has passed away suddenly, and basically respond with, "Yeah but what about ME!"

This post has to be some form of dark humor satire. I really hope it is.

I'm sure the OP didn't mean anything bad. Just because he didn't say more doesn't necessarily mean there isn't more to the story. I'm sure he feels compassion for the SAs family/friends like any decent human would. One would hope, at least.
I'm on no lists but a friend of mine who is has his contact info in the AD's system apparently. Perhaps this AD is similar. All SAs have access to it. Hopefully, that's your case, OP. |

Speechless.
Proof that life doesn’t skip a beat when we’re gone. I always joked when I die my boss will call my wife for coverage. “Ah crap Bob passed away, how’s that Pepsi list looking?” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OP check with the family estate, maybe the deceased SA thought ahead and left their customer watch list with a trustee of the will and then you may be made whole.
Good lord the world is full of cold narcissistic people and this thread proves it. |

Repeat customer? Feel lost? Maybe you should ask the family how they feel. I am sure they feel more lost than you.

This is going to sound a bit rough but...
This where Rolex buying has ended up. Some poor retail assistant dies and and the OP's first thought is to make it about himself. That has to be the interpretation. It comes down to how can I best preserve my interests as I step over this poor guy. Perhaps it's time for a thread for the best wording on a condolence card and gifts for the bereaved. This has to be parody. Please tell me it's a prank. April 1st is not far off... |

I wish that the OP would have added a few words to take the sting out of this post. Insensitivity, oversight, who knows? I'm fairly sure that this isn't an attempt at humor though.
