Age old question - jubilee vs oyster - DJ41

I currently have a 116610 sub and looking to get a blue stick DJ41 w/ fluted bezel. My conundrum is between the jubilee or oyster. I mostly wear casual to business casual so I'm wondering if the jubilee is a little too dressy for daily wear, including weekends. But the sub also has the oyster so maybe go w/ the jubilee? I know there's lots of opinions here, but looking to get the watch that will share equal wrist time with the sub vs more dressy scenarios.

To me it Jubilee's no question with the fluted!

If fluted go for jubilee especially as you already have an oyster in the sub. It’s a classic combo.

Not too dressy in my opinion! It pairs so well with flutted bezel and it brings diversity to your collection!

Gotta be a jubilee for that fluted bezel. I've owned that exact watch since 2018 and wouldn't change a thing about it....

You really can’t go wrong with either. I have a two tone 41 fluted bezel with oyster and a 36 fluted jubilee. My 41 is really sporty looking and the 36 more refined looking. I have dressed them both up and down. Worn both formal and casual. Go with what sings to you and you will be happy!

My suggestion though if it were my choice, go jubilee for variety since you already have the sub.

Mine is with jubilee which I prefer over never oysters anyway.

on that config Jubilee is the answer. Bonus points, for $1500-ish you can add the Oyster bracelet and essentially have both. You're extra welcome.

See I think the fluted/jubilee look really pops the more causally you dress. It's a great juxtaposition & with the right attitude, anyone can carry this off.

I have been contemplating this same question as I consider adding a DJ to my collection. I personally lean towards the fluted with oyster as I like the “contrast” of the fluted bezel against the oyster bracelet. I also lean this way because I own a DD as well.

I got the oyster clasp with my DJ, and in hindsight wish that i had gotten the Jubilee, since my other two Rolexes have the Oyster (and a DJ with Jubilee is an age-old classic). But question - does the DJ Jubilee band still have the crown (hidden) clasp, or does it have the "easy link" clasp like the oyster bands? I really love the easy link, makes it so much more comfortable on hot days when my wrist swells a bit.

Fluted/ Jubilee = More dressy
Smooth/ Oyster = More casual

Smooth and jubilee don’t go for me but smooth or fluted can go with either but I also think the dial will influence that decision too But it’s what you like, plus Rolex make them in all configurations so there must be demand for all so Rolex don’t see a wrong or right….
