What a sad post in my opinion.
Maybe I’m radical, but I recommend putting the Rolex on and enjoying it. Life is short and there are no pockets in a shroud.

Lol - your photo reminds me of the time about 5 years ago I gave my in-laws a bottle of Skull vodka (they’re in Rostov) - it still sits unopened in a display cabinet too !

Hah, hah - in contrast my uncle (in Liverpool) had the bottle drained in minutes - then we were all off to the pub !
this bottle was emptied many years ago by my father and his friend in my early 20th, just like the design and saved it;)

That special discontinued green bezel may net you an extra $500 down the road. Don’t spend it all in one place!

Happy April fool(s)!

Yes, put it under glass and worship it. That is what it was manufactured for.

I love these, I am convinced that these are fake accounts meant to generate traffic. Just precious.

I don’t think this is a fake post. I was in Orlando for a conference, waiting a plane to go home and I spot a SD, I strike up a conversation, and the guy says “ you know Rolex has outperformed the index for the last 20 years.”

OMG, I have learned to hate these types of threads. WEAR the watch and enjoy wearing a Rolex. Love it, learn why you love it, teach your kids to love horology. End of story.

Cast it in resin if you'd like. Ignore the naysayers.

Didnt think that this thread will occur so many thoughts that it is a fake post and etc. I'm new to the premium watch world, i've begun interesting in watch just several month ago and only knew that rolex value and price always increase. Thank you guys for your advice.

The best watch investment you can make is one you are going to wear without any hesitation of "devaluing" or trying to keep it 100% mint. Wear your watches, enjoy them, have stories to tell about them and you will not go wrong. Congratulations on your piece as well, definetely made the right choice.

Let me ask if you're really prepared to go through the hassle of selling the watch with all its uncertainties after owning it for years? IMHO that is a real pain. I'd wear it, enjoy it and years down the road if you must, then sell it. Nice watch; congratulations!!!

You’ve come to the wrong place to get support and affirmation that this modern submariner should be some type of investment. While I agree with basically everyone here that it’s not a “proper” investment, I don’t “hate” these threads like some of the others.

If your highest form of enjoyment comes from admiring an unworn watch through a glass showcase or sitting on a shelf, then enjoy the watch that way. Don’t let anyone tell you how to enjoy your belongings.

IF that for whatever reason is the only and or best way for you to enjoy your watch then do it. The value will increase over time and it will certainly be worth more if the condition is truly unworn.

While I’m not saying it is or should be considered an investment, it is an asset and certainly not a liability.

Especially for a modern watch that’s really not rare, my personal outlook would be to invest in the enjoyment the watch will bring. You’d still own and wear something that holds its value strong for years to come, but you get to enjoy it every day forever as well.
