Someone in another thread mentioned that he outsources now. I have had a bracelet restored by him a while back and the work was great.

Michael Young's work is hit and miss. I will not use him anymore as well as others here on the forum.

Curious - I know it's too late but assuming you are in the US did you consider Rolliworks in the CA Bay Area? They seem to have a good reputation and perform work as good as M Young on bracelets. I haven't personally taken a watch to them (ended up selling) but would have been my choice to avoid duties.

Yeah just because some place is closer don't mean it is better.
I guess I learned that the hard way. Bracelet is screwed up pretty good now. Once bitten twice shy, wont be sending it back. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice,....no that ain't happening.

Reviving an old spring bar thread
Hi All,
First of all, thanks for the wealth of information that I have found here on the forum. I have a question based on the Esslinger charts posted above. It looks like a 16800 case would use part no. 82.9290 spring bars, which are shown to have a diameter of 1.8mm. I always thought that the 16800 used 2mm bars. What am I missing here? Thanks, Tom |

Thanks Springer . . .
I appreciate the reply. I was starting to question my sanity (more than usual that is).

Indeed ∆ ✓ - 2mm, as are most 'professional' pieces of the era.
