Offshore AP Talks Series
If you are an AP fan....don't miss the AP Talks video recently released discussing the Offshore (it is in Hodinkee today: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ho...ture-map-video).
I thought it was REALLY good and has me excited for some more new releases this year. As Francois said...they are just getting started. |

It is also posted on the AP YouTube channel. I watched it yesterday. Great and funny stories from Francois...they have come a long way with the Offshore.

It is amazing to hear all the stories of how Francois hustled to get AP to where it is today. He is truly a one of a kind leader in this industry, and I wonder who AP could find to fill his shoes when he steps down this year. |

I have no doubt the product will be excellent as it has been for 150 years, but what he did is masterfully bring AP watches into mainstream popular culture while still maintaining the classiness and high horology appeal of the brand. What he accomplished should be a case study at business schools worldwide. |

I secretly hope he stays for few more years but even if he doesn't, his influence will still be felt through the releases in the coming few years. |

Love the video...
Old members here know how much I joked about FHB and his coke driven watch fairs antics but the thing is guy was really a visionary and always ahead of the time... The problem is some of us old school guys love his stories with Arnold, Jay Z, all the Pleiad of F1 drivers, and not so much a modern touch with 100 pounds male influencers who dance in the sand... Regarding video, I think he praise too much Jay Z and miss the mentioning of all the racing inspired Offshore models. Never AP put a effort in the limited edition design watches as they did with all the racing inspired models. From Montoya, Barichello, Schumi, Trulli... And as I always said, Offshore Chrono was a line for bold design moves (not movement wise like Concept line) so what I really don't like it became just a dial\material change watch... and as much I'm not a big fan of Music Edition I loved the idea and hope for more Offshores in that direction... And speaking of good and bad Offshore stories and limited edition, as much as I love Trulli as my favorite Offshore ever with monochrome color scheme, red accents and use of ceremet, must admit that Survivor is the pinnacle of Offshore limited editions. Speaking of bad ones, the worst ever is Lebron ROO launch, outside watch media biggest launch ever in a long history of Audemars Piguet company covered by hundreds of sports, finance, fashion, hype magazines and blogs and they managed to send a wrong picture of the watch to all of them... some of them changed it after, but lot of smaller ones who borrow the news from the bigger players still have the wrong pic in the article... The second one is actually a great looking watch but listen to this... they made a diver watch for a horse race, a diver watch with a gold bezel, a diver watch that comes only on a croc strap... |

That was great. FHB is brilliant - how he saw where the culture was going, and how he got the greenlight to collaborate with Jay-Z.
I don’t agree with everything he’s done but he’s added tremendous value to the brand
