Icon20 Real or Fake Tudor Prince Oysterdate

Hi All,
I just purchased this Tudor Prince Datejust yesterday on an app called Carousell and was not sure if it’s real or fake. The seller told me it’s dated 1984 the year of the Tudor serial reset and has a lucky serial of 2x888. Would you be able to help a newbie out as I am worried about the movement especially the rotor as I don’t see any with the shield below the text. Am worried it’s a Frankenstein watch…

Looks ok to me, this is/was a very common model in HK. Better to check here before you buy next time, though.

Not I. I will say if you want peace of mind; take it to a reputable watch maker. Obviously they aren’t Tudor professionals, but what they can provide is some information about the authenticity of the movement. A more seasoned watch maker might be able to spot some red flags. Usually they’ll do this fairly cheap. Or for free if you are nice to ‘em.

Thank you Drew, took it to a vintage watch seller here in Hong Kong who also works on watches and he checked everything out and is all legit! Thank you all for the help again, I really appreciate it being a newbie and all.

Glad it checked out. I'd consider taking the bracelet to Michael Young at Classic Watch Repair in Central to have the bracelet tightened up and strengthened.

Hi Old Expat Beast, you actually read my mind the one thing I really wanted to do was to tighten the bracelet as there is too much stretch. Thank you for the recommendation as I didn't know where this could be done, will definitely go do this!
