Hey Everyone,

I decided to switch out my black bezel for a Pepsi bezel yesterday on my old GMT... I followed the tutorials here on how to do it, I taped up the watch, and the bread knife I used... the bezel did pop off easy, but I did leave some scratch marks on the casing near the lugs, and a tiny mark on the bezel itself.

Personally I'm not too worried about it anyway at the moment because the bracelet is quite scratched up and the watch is about a year away from servicing but my question is this:

Will Rolex know what I've done and refuse to service the watch? I know that I'll need to switch back to the black bezel before sending it in but will they refuse to touch the watch now? I hope not!

Anyway, loving the Pepsi Bezel, and loving my new GMTIIc, and I feel the watches are a little more diverse now.

Yes you will be fine the insert is interchangeable,thats why the GMT11 is such a versatile watch.Buy 3 inserts 3 different watches for very little money like everything once you have changed them a few times it becomes very easy.

Well done just a wod of advice if you intend swapping out on a regular basis invest in a case knife not expensive and easily got on the bay.

Thinking of changing my brand from Pepsi to Coke anytime soon.

They will service the watch but might switch it back to the original bezel and keep the one that was on it. Talk to them about it

Great idea to have a change of colour.

Excellent group, I'm just about to get a jubilee braclet for my GMT, already have Black and Pepsi inserts, (don't like the coke)

Since you must be a pro by now in changing bezel inserts, how long does it take and do you ever scratch your watch?

I've done it twice and scratched a lug on the second attempt.

My watchmaker will do it while I wait, so it's easy for me.

Recently changed my bracelet on my Explorer I, but I left no scratches. It took me an hour though!

I tried changing my GMTII bezel and followed the posted directions. It seems easy and straight forward enough. Just a slight pressure underneath with a knife, but the bezel actually snapped off and flew across the room along with the click pin. I was horrified! The bezel was okay, but I couldn't find the pin. I sent it in to Rolex and everything was fix. They charged me $25 for the pin. I will not ever try this again.

I did the exact same thing about 2 weeks ago - switched out the black for the pepsi bezel insert on my GMT II. I taped the lugs, removed the bracelet, used a Snap-on pry tool PBN2 to pop off the bezel, followed instructions posted herein, etc. The bezel popped off quickly, luckily I had my hand over it or it would have flown across the room with the pin. The hardest part was forcing the new bezel completely into the insert. It basically came down to giving it a few bangs with the bottom of my palm with a towel under it to complete the job - no scratches, no dents, no problems. The Snap-on pry tool PBN2 is made of a composite material, goes for about $10-$15 on eBay - leaves no scratches - I probably could have gotton away without the tape but wanted be a little over-protective.

I loved the watch with the black bezel. Now, I love the watch with the Pepsi bezel. It gives it a completely different feel and a nice change for the summer.
