Rolex Box Inner Lining

Hi
I just picked up a new Rolex from a local AD. I want to know what the inner lining is made of. I'm referring to the light colored lining that covers the pillow and rest of the inside of the box so that watch doesn't get scratched when the watch touches it. Is it suede? Microfiber? Something else? Does anyone know?
Thank you

Not likely Alcantara (R) and not suede.

if i'm not mistaken, i believe i once read that it's velour, which is somewhat similar to velvet. no idea whether it's "traditional" velour (cotton), or standard "modern" velour (polyester). probably the latter.

Never known any synthetic material no matter what it was made from was strong enough to scratch harm one of the strongest metals made today SS.And while wearing on the wrist what it was designed for, it will come into many other materials that will scratch your watch. But all wearing resting in box scratches easily rectified at normal routine RSC service, only to get scratched again wearing.

Something synthetic, most probably made in China, that is only supposed to be used for a very short time.

Is this for real? Wouldn't the box that Rolex provides be a safe place? I don't get this.

I think someone is on a fishing trip. Can’t be for real. The soft lining of a Rolex box scratching a watch.

I would think Rolex outsources their box entirely. And they are not too great given the price point of the brand.

I don’t think OP was saying they’re worried about scratches but describing the purpose, as they see it, to the lining.

It's YG DD. I don't want RSC polishing my watch.

Correct. I'm just curious to know what Rolex uses.

I never suggested that Rolex boxes scratch watches. I'm simply asking what material they use.

I think you did have concerns that the lining would scratch the watch, hence the responses.

No I don't have any concerns with the Rolex box. I'm simply asking about the material.

The OP's own words speaks to their understanding that the material used is so the watch DOESN'T get scratched.

I would guess a form of synthetic suede, e.g., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrasuede

As others have stated if you read the op’s simple question he’s asking a straightforward question about the fabric used that stops your watch from getting scratched

Interesting how many can read the same statement and walk away with exactly the opposite point.
