I LOVE BEER. YES, I'M SHOUTING. I'm like Homer Simpson in that regard.

For mixed drinks, a Jack & diet Coke will be fine.

If I'm with people who can appreciate it, I like to buying a round of Absinthe at Jean Lafitte's down in New Orleans, complete with the whole ritual.

Plus Port - vintage or single Quinta.

Maybe Rioja Reserva, G.R or perhaps a nice Ribera del Duero.

Gin and tonic.

Whiskey Sour.

Perhaps a nice cup of tea!

Try the Anejo especial or better yet Appletons, Angostura, Fernandez or Cockspur. Mind you, they're much too nice to mix with anything but water

I love me the Rum! Usually I take it with some Coke, sometimes I make a Mai Tai...some pineapple juice, a little fruit punch and some rum on the top....mmmmmm good. Or I make a "Guay Tai"...basically Guava Juice with some rum over ice. Also very good.

I'm with Nathan on the rum.

With the occasional sip of Embajador mezcal (with no girly salt or limon either).

Jack Daniels and ginger ale with a splash of vanilla vodka. Though lately I've begun to add that splash of vanilla vodka to everything, it really seems to go well with just about any mixed drink I like.

Corona with a lime suits me most of the time. If I'm in a liquor mood, it's a Grey Goose salty dog.

I know it's Bonnie Prince Charlies favourite drink but I didn't think it was made by monks.
Bennedictine, on the other hand, is made by monks. As is Buckfast Abbey tonic wine which every Sctosman drinks with Irn Bru for breakfast

If Im not mistaken, it is decanted from a certain fluid level in the whisky oak cask. Theres a small percentage of it in each whiskey barrel.

Theres a good possibility Im completely wrong about that.

Buckfast...that brings back the memories...

Picture a drunken gormless knob in ropey Scottish bar below a shopping centre in Canary Islands.

"Gimme a drink love!"

"What would you like?"

"You pick"

"How about a Buckfast?"

"Breakfast? Hello, thats a bit forward!"

"No, it's a Scottish wine!"

"Yeah go on!"

Barmaid pours buckfast into shot glass.

"Hold on, hold on...you said it was wine...stick it in a red wine glass and fill it up love!"

I woke up 13 hours later with my face in probably the most disgusting curry and beer abused toilet bowl and that was the very last thing I remembered.

The thought of it still makes me feel ill.

Sounds like you had a traditional scottish breakfast with all the trimmings even if it was in The Canaries
