Why the fuck 5227 cuts the index is beyond me. It's too short, it's too abrupt, it ruins the watch. It's a huge shame coz the lug, the dial, the officers case back are so damn beautiful, but damn the short indexes...
I prefer no date as well, if there's a date 6 o'clock position is better imo coz it's symmetrical Fyi I sold my 85180 for a 6119. 6119 is an absolute beauty and imo the calatrava to get nowadays |

For dress watch, nothing beats Laurent Ferrier Classic Micro Rotor. Under the radar, finishing way beyond Patek, natural escapement... And at 40mm, it is extremely wearable

Ultimate dress watch: Patek Calatrava or VC Patrimony?
For me, better without a date complication. More better if it didn’t have a distracting seconds hand. The thing about a “dress” watch is one’s taste. Unless you are willing to attend an event without your phone, it is NOT a dress event. Dressy maybe, but not formal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I would also choose Calatrava. I prefer vintage ones though.
