What can I realistically expect from my AD next?
Of course I will be asking my AD, but curious what you guys think/experiences.
Have a decent relationship with my SA (family friend of sorts). She got me a DJ41 in June 2020, and looks like I’ll be getting a black subdate very soon. What do you think I can realistically push for next? Would love a GMT on Jubilee (either but prefer BLRO, but understand that’s harder), or a blue/green SD (seems even more unlikely). Also like the DD40 RG but would rather have another AP at that price point.

Man, what's with people wanting a whole bunch of Rolex models at retail. Maybe try landing that Submariner Date before looking for others.

Especially if the SA is a family friend, I'd ask them for whatever watch you like the most, and perhaps give them a runner up if that one you absolutely love is likely unobtainable (e.g., JM Daytona). In terms of what is realistic, I would think it depends on what specific clients they have waiting on what at the moment.

I would be honest and tell her exactly what you would like to have in your Rolex collection. They get a lot of requests for these, but you will have already bought one or two watches from her recently.

Indeed, since you have an in with her, ask for what you want rather than a cautious approach. The pecking order as usual is family, friends, bid spenders and then the rest of the rabble (in the ADs eyes). Good luck!

I too would tell you to slow down and enjoy the Sub for a while. It should be an interesting journey, not a race.

Probably PM something or other or two tone, not sure they’ll continue allocating full stainless steel without some quasi bundling, if the goal is a Daytona / other hype piece.
I think you can probably ask and get a PM Daytona (Bucherer pretty receptive to those), but maybe not new model? |

Get the watch you want. Enjoy. Stop thinking about the next watch. Enjoy what you have.

I just went in for the most unexpected expectation in a new AD with zero purchase history. Told me rep I'll be a repeat customer if she can get me me a sub date.
7 weeks later, she delivred. Picked it up last WED and wearing it 24x7. Now I can see why some people make this a one and done watch cos really, no need for any other fancy watch. Was offered a rose tone gmt master on sunday by by the same rep ..I politely deliced but told me rep I'll be back for a pepsi gmt next year. She said no need for a watlist..just let her know 90 days prior and she'll hook me up. Market is getting soft. DO NOT feed grey market sellers at this point. |

Tell them you will buy full PM next but that you’d like a GMT after that. That should signal your genuine intent to spend big but that you’d also like them to allocate you some hard to get watches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Northern California mate ! And a high profile store with really shit Rolex yelp reviews... Somehow, my rep came thru. On hindsight, I've been enjoying the sub date so much, I don't really want a GMT anymore...lol. |

The only person who knows the answer is your AD... as with anything though - don't ask, don't get. So request exactly what you're after and be upfront and honest :)

percent agree! We lament over the availability of watches at the AD while often paying retail, or more, from second-hand retailers who are likely getting these watches from the AD or else from people that are flipping from the AD, just so we can satisfy our impulses for instant gratification. Am I the only one that sees this problem? |

Thanks. Couldn’t get it done as a second as she had trouble getting it approved. Hopefully as a third.

If you have a better chance because you know someone at the AD’s then go for the very best you can get your hands on

Ask for the GMT, you’ll get it. Probably not a BLRO right away, but if you’re open to any GMT I’m sure they can allocate you one

If it’s a good relationship, then ask for both and take whichever comes first.
