The rose gold is spectacular especially with the gold bridge. Very underrated watch and in my opinion something quite different to the Royal Oaks with unbelievable quality and depth of the movement.

Post photo of the 1 watch you’d never sell

My Father’s 1977 6426 Oyster Precision Manual that he gave me last year. I had it restored, serviced, dial changed from Silver to a new Grey one with new hands and a 78350 bracelet put on it. I still have the original dial, hands and 7835 bracelet should any future generations want to reinstate them. Liked it so much I then found a cheap beat up 1970 6426 from Japan and had that restored as well but with a new Black dial and hands for my daily. I think I’m unlikely to even sell the black dial one but I will definitely never sell my Father’s one. The dial looks great in different lights - it’s hard to believe both pictures below are the same Grey Dialled watch.

Thanks Brian! I will say it has decreased my desire to have many of the newer Rolex sports models though. I just love a 5 digit Rolex!

I’m like you where my close second to hold on to is the 321. I mean look at that movement! Love it

Purchased to commemorate the birth of my daughter, received a couple of weeks after she was born (sadly didn't arrive in time for the birth). I wear it daily so it's captured in all photo's throughout her life.

I’ve prolly mentioned this watch in other threads of this nature. It’s nothing compared to the models some have shared.

But it’s just my first Swiss watch given to me nearly 60 years ago by great parents.

Not the original bracelet - this is a newer beads of rice bracelet I purchased from Otto Frei. The first one wore out about 15 years ago and Omega had stopped making them.

I’d say it’s quite something compared to watches we can just buy Willy nilly with enough disposable cash.

I certainly wish I had something like this

Super cool, but I’ll be the one to ask - what is it? I mean clearly a customized Rolex, but who did the work, where can I learn more about it, etc.?

Most sincere thanks.

Full hand engraved western scroll, deep relief w/black epoxy background and a few gold inlays, by David Wade Harris in Texas.

This is an absolutely stunning watch. I’d love to see a video of how this is done because I’m so drawn to genuine artisanal work.

Rolex would never accept this watch for service, but there are many good independents.

Engraving by David Wade Harris in TX, some videos below.

Thanks for answering my question and posting these videos. Any idea as to how long it may have taken him to complete your watch?

What a craftsman. We’re losing more and more of these people. Again, your watch is a treasure. No wonder you’d never part with it.

Sincere thanks.

Pending coverage and complexity, 6-8 weeks, and you have to be put on the waitlist, usually 4 months. Mine took approximately 44 hrs. David Sheehan waitlist was about a year ! Due to the small size and strain on eyes, Harris can only engrave a watch 1.5-2 hrs daily on a watch. Most engraver's mainstay is guns, with watches as a secondary.

The process of choosing a preferred style, engraver, and design is a great experience that creates a bond with the watch …………….. I highly recommend it if you have the desire ! I’m planning another !
