Hi Santosh insurance for automobiles in the United States may work differently than your home country, and for some drivers these coverages (at correct prices) can have a lot of value. It’s very situational person to person.

I can pay ~$2000 and get 8 years unlimited miles tire and wheel protection on my new GLS580. AND it covers cosmetic. It has 22” AMG wheels. That’s a great deal in my opinion and will pay for itself with just one mishap in 8 years. AMG stuff is no joke, which I know you’re well aware. I see guys paying that (or more) for a 4 year plan with just factory branded Ford/Chevy/Toyota wheels, which is bonkers. |

So you are buying insurance from an insurance broker instead of a car dealer. It still is very likely not a good deal for someone unless they are living paycheck to paycheck.

Thanks again for the advice on buying the optional coverages. Thought I’d update with a picture of the car and that I was able to pull the surprise off Christmas morning. She’s very happy, as am I. Merry Christmas! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Change your deductible to zero. It's usual cheaper than you think.

Questions on a new car purchase
I’ve bought about 10 cars over the last twenty years and not once have I elected any of those extras. No regrets. Also, I always thought your basic car insurance covers the windshield but I’m not sure, because I guess I’ve been lucky all those years.

Also, windshields are a lot more expensive to replace now for insurance companies given the sensors built in around the rearview mirror. |
