I bought my BLRO back when the only option for the bracelet was a jubilee. On my previous GMTs (a couple 5-digit ones, a BLNR, and a 116710LN), I always had it on an oyster bracelet. I’ve enjoyed the jubilee on my BLRO since it dresses it up a bit and contrasts with the more dressed down look of my Subs.

However, I got the itch for something new. After looking at what to add to my collection next, I decided that instead of adding another watch, I’d get an oyster bracelet for my BLRO. I hate that the watches I have now don’t get as much wrist time as I’d like, so this is also another way of adding something new without having one more watch sitting in the watch box.

So, without further ado, the transition:

Looks good. How did you manage to get the bracelet? There seems to be conflicting info, on whether or not you can just buy either bracelet, without trading the original.

I purchased it from one of the trusted resellers here on TRF. Arrived in about 24 hours.

I wouldn’t have done the change if I would have needed to turn in the jubilee. While I don’t plan to swap between the often very often, I like having the option. It’s almost like having a second watch. Also, I hate the idea of turning in something worth so much and then paying full price for the replacement. It’s like paying double as much, which wouldn’t have been worth it.

Was the bracelet advertised or did you have to go contacting various dealers hunting for one that had one in stock?

Hopefully they didn’t overcharge, by too much. I feel the same way you do, and probably most of us do. It is ridiculous to give up something you’ve already paid for, in order to get a different bracelet. In fact, it’s unfair.

It was advertised. I actually hadn’t set out looking for it when browsing for something new to potentially add to the collection. When I saw it, though, it was perfect for what I needed.

I do not like sport watches on anything but an Oyster bracelet. The Oyster is more sporty and the Jubilee is a dressier type bracelet. The Jubilee belongs on a 2 tone datejust with fluted bezel (the old mans watch), IMHO......haha!

I believe the Sub has different end links that wouldn’t fit the GMT. I wouldn’t mind all brushed links as opposed to the PCL on the oyster bracelet for the GMT, though. It definitely looks more sporty.

The newer version of the 97200 bracelet absolutely fits the BLRO.
