Incoming GMT BLNR!

Just picked up the black and blue this morning. The watch is amazing and my suspicion that it wears lighter than the Sub is accurate. The bracelet and clasp are so much more comfortable than my Submariner.

This is definitely a love at first sight situation. I did ask if I could buy the jubilee bracelet and they said yes, which is perfect to switch things up.

Now for the backstory:

If anyone was tracking my thread "AD updates", I was after a Sub since last February 2023 for a 40th birthday. I got the run around from an AD who I previously bought an engagement ring from. I eventually went grey and moved on from the whole waiting game.

This past January as I was watching my boys play in the basement, I got a spur of the moment idea to write a review about my experience. I get a call three hours later from the Store Manager. I explain the story to him and tell him I actually already got the Sub, he asks is there any other watch I was interested in and I immediately say the GMT BLNR.

The Store Manager says OK the next one is yours. I was skeptical they were going to deliver, but I got a call around Easter saying they haven’t forgotten about me and I will get the watch. I finally got the call this past Saturday saying a GMT will be arriving in Tuesday and it’s mine if I want it.

I’m shocked they delivered and I’m not sure what the morale of the story is but I’m over the moon with this watch.

Pictures will be posted soon.

Funny I also have a subD and Batgirl. Tend to wear the sub more often, but really do admire the blue/black bazel. Wish I was offered the gmt on oyster bracelet, I prefer it more.

Nice! I walked into my AD this past January and got a Batgirl. Love the watch, as I'm sure you will love yours as well. Wear it in good health!

Congrats! Must of been a heck of a review. I’ve wanted the BLNR forever and finally went grey. The AD’s are dead to me.

I wonder what would have transpired if you had asked for a Panda

Here is the review. I removed the AD and put in “XX.”

If you’re looking for a milestone Rolex, I would look elsewhere. I expressed interest in a Submariner in late February of 2023, and really got the run around for most of the year.

My 40th was in October and XX said I was on track and would get the watch, which didn’t happen.

I continued to be patient realizing it’s challenging to get a Rolex in this market, and December became the new timeframe which was again missed. A new date was in February 2024 and still nothing.

As an existing customer who purchased their engagement ring from XX I expected better service. I’m OK with a long wait and understand demand exceeds supply but the #1 rule in customer service is under promise and overdeliver, in this instance that was sorely missed.

Congratulations, it's a great watch. I didn't rate it compared to the BLRO but when I actually met one and tried it on the colour scheme worked really well. It just clicks visually.

Are you saying that you wrote a negative review about your AD, and in response they ended up getting you a GMT?

Correct - the only other piece of information I did not state in my initial post was the Sales Manager did not have me on the "list" so there was also an error on their part.

I was never going to get the Submariner, because the sales person I was working with made an error.

Looks awesome on you, congrats!

I agree about it being lighter than the Sub too. Fantastic watch. One of the best steel watches in the current lineup.

The real question is not why anyone is so extra.

The real question is why someone is so basic.

Cheers to being extra !!!!!!!!!! I'm on that extra train too.

Looks a good fit. Wrist size?

I was torn between this or an LV. Eventually went for the LV but it’s a close call.
