Thoughts on Pam753?

Pam753, base logo Radiomir -- Any owners on the forum? Recently visited a Panerai boutique, and liked it quite a bit.

The criticisms that I could find were:

(a) Painted numerals (instead of sandwich) and
(b) Driven case back (instead of screwdown), although it still retains 100m WR

It seems the sandwich style is offered at a higher price point with more fancy dials, which I'm not a fan of. Plain matte black dial is a must for me.

So, I guess my question is whether this is a good purchase, or shall I hold back and see if they update it with the above features? Appreciate any thoughts.

I would suggest the new, PAM1382.

I looking at the 1086 right now. I don’t mind the painted dial, I like the pre-vendom dial layout so I’m perfectly happy with that. The 100m water resistance angers me… the base logo is a classic for a reason, buy it if you like it!

Why the 1382? If I'm not mistaken, it has the same specs in terms of WR, painted numbers, driven caseback etc. The dial aesthetics is different of course.

Good point about the pre-V! I'm fine with the painted dial also, but it seems most people prefer the sandwich, so I brought it up.

I went backwards and got a gently used 210. Sandwich dial and exhibition back.

It's a great reference. But the problem is it appears that all the good ones are taken. On Chrono 24 there are only two in the US with box and papers, and they are not in a great condition!

The aesthetics of the 1382 dial, IMO, are far better and they’re a callback to vintage dials.

Panerai instructions for 1086 state "...safe use in any conditions until dept limit indicated on the back of the watch. However do not use the watch to a depth greater than recommemded. If the watch is used in underwater sports activities it is recommended to control it ever, year"

So, i would not worry about type od case back. PP also lowered WR for allmost all the watches, but stating that 30m realy means 30m debt rating.
