Price disparities in Nautilus 5990 models

I'm trying to understand the pricing of Nautilus 5990 models and would appreciate your insight.

I tried researching on Chron24 for price benchmarks and saw, as of May 2024:

The original steel dark gray face 5990 1A-001 starts at $104,000.

The newer steel dark blue face 5990 1A-011 starts at $143,000.

The rose gold dark blue face 5990 1R-001 starts at $252,000.

What explains these huge gaps and do the reasons carry over to other Nautilus lines and discontinued (or partly discontinued) Patek lines more broadly? And what does this show about steel versus gold for Patek sports models?
