Flippers cannot increase demand; demand brings out the flippers with the allure of profits. Your area just has a lot of demand for Rolex and inevitably the watches will trade at fair market value in such places. Not too good for you and others who just want to build collections at MSRP.

That is true, yet very unfortunate for someone whom just want to start a watch collection with Rolex as a first timer.
