I still think the original incarnation of the double balance wheel movement in the 15407ST is the best, with the contrast between the dark grey and pink and yellow gold elements (and no text on the crystal).

yeah it's interesting that they're going with the text on the crystal. always thought it was just the 37 that got it because it was a 37 but seems like they've doubled down on it now. bit of a weird touch on an otherwise flawless piece of art that their openworkeds are

I don’t mind the minute track and smaller minute indicators. Would rather not have “Audemars Piguet” on the crystal (preferred on the minute track)

The big misstep in my opinion is the balance bridge as there’s no more contrast. Hope they don’t go with this design language for the 41.

Looks great and if I recall correctly I spotted a few new looking 38mm open works.

Would absolutely love one but way out of my league.

37mm is a great size for AP ROs. My wrist is 7.25 and that is the size I like most. Even 36mm was awesome.

I think some people in here have seen the new 41. Would be helpful for them to shed light as to whether it will use the same architecture as the 37.

Anecdotally based on what I’d heard about the new 41s theses 37s match the description but I have not seen them for myself.

I would think we get a new caliber. This 3100 base movement isn't used in other references anymore I believe.

Hope they will not go architecturally in a Jumbo openwork way... even it is, from technical and even more from the finishing side, superior to double balance openwork, I find all iterations of Jumbo openwork visually worst openwork models they made... ok, that worst is still brilliant but not on pair with their other models...

Call me crazy but I'd be happy if they keep the current DBW movement around for a long time. It's gorgeous and I'm still years away from sniffing one

I wish they would bring back the openworked movement based on the legendary 2121 movement used only in the limited production 39mm squelette jumbos like the 15204. Sadly only 2 references only utilized that movement and both were produced in such limited quantities

41mm planned for july normally and yes, it's all going to be goldish inside, so no bridge standing out anymore...

I wonder if AP solicits design feedback from the collector community at large (not everyone, but a more select group who may provide decent general representation). If so, I then wonder how much they listen to them because a decision to discard the single contrasting bridge must have been justified internally at AP somehow. There will always be the initial pool of negative reaction that AP expects, and of course there’s cost and material aspects that consumers don’t know/care about, but I’d love to be a fly on the wall to hear executive discussions on how they make final design decisions. Moreover, these decisions are generally made years in advance and therefore are attributed to FHB’s strategic choices, as per my current understanding.
In all cases, always interesting to see what AP releases next.

Definitely takes time to accept the new look but as of now, I would still prefer the 15407. The gold bridge really pops.

There are 3 versions released from the article - steel, ceramic and gold

Reference number is still 15407 so i assume the old one is now discontinued
