Yeah this makes sense, if I can get it great but if not I guess it's just not meant to happen.

My local AD told me that the Rolex OP is a very special watch, reserved only for highest of high rollers.

Trying to get an OP
I, for one, am pulling for you. I am on the list for the 36 mm Celebration, which I’m pretty much resigned to the fact that I won’t get. I’m OK with that, as I will not pay a ridiculous price for it. It did take a full year for me to get my silver dial OP 36. None of them are easy to get, but candy pink, turquoise, and Celebration dials almost impossible. Doesn’t hurt to try, though.

For myself I have a limit that I won't go above which is 25% over retail. So when I do shop the gray Market I always do the math to figure out if it's a watch I'm interested in then I figure out whether or not I want to pay the price that they're asking which if it's more than 25% over retail I'm out of there. ..

Oh wow. I have met with three so far and none of them have told me that, maybe they just don't want to be that blunt. I will see what happens.

Crazy to think any AD would say a less than $7 k usd watch is only for the highest of high rollers. Ridiculous for sure.

At one point, the OPs were among the Rolexes with highest percentage price mark up, on the secondary market. Certainly the three dials I mentioned still are. So, not so crazy. I still remember the pic of Tom Brady wearing the coral dial, at a sporting event. He’s certainly a high roller. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
