Still waiting for the call..........

Not sure why but seems like either I am the sucker not getting the call or the taupe is still quite highly sought after from the boutique

It was not a demo.

I keep thinking about how out of this world it would look if they took the smoked blue-dial dial from the 26730TI.OO.1320TI.04 and put it in the taupe 43 ROO. Make the case titanium, but keep everything else the same.

The Taupe is beautiful IMO. Also it’s trading well below list (at least in Asia) US$38-40k. This is also negotiable as they aren’t trading well here at all.

Here is an example

Check out 'Mint Oct 2021 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26420SO Smoked Dial Dial 26420', available at S$54,500 on #Carousell https://carousell.app.link/YAnwopVWoAb

If you have a trusted friend here, have them get it for you.

Good luck

That would indeed be so impressive it would break the internet.
There really are so many more options for the ROO 43 with just basic dial changes installed on either their steel or titanium body. Fingers still crossed for some new ROO releases this year at some point.

Some help to decide :: Which ROO 43mm?

Just picked up the rg this week. Loving it!
My friend has the taupe and it’s nice too

I recently got the black dial as I think it’s got a perfect sporty/Motorsport feel with the red accents. I’m also going to order the red rubber strap too for a pop of color which matches the dial accents perfectly (as shown above with the gold version).

I actually tried on the smoke dial as an exhibition model, and thought it was great. However, end of day, I thought the black was more special. It’s actually more multiple hues of dark grey/silver in different lighting and has a ton of depth. AP and their tapisserie dials really are impossible to capture in standstill photographs.

I’ve tried on all three and taupe is the number one. I bought the grey as that was offered and I liked it -a bird in the hand. Annoyingly I was offered the taupe by an AD but had already bought the grey at the boutique so declined.

I would have refused the black.

Taupe all the way for me. Picture last fall with the beige calfskin strap. Yes, I wear it with suits and with shorts. This ROO is really versatile.

How are you enjoying the RG on the red strap? Can you post some pics showing more of the strap? I didn't even know they had a red strap for the interchangeable system, but now that I've seen a glimpse of yours, I am considering getting one for my RG.

Hopefully AP uses the exact same interchangeable strap system for a long time so we can leverage our investments in cool straps over many models!

Ya it’s so good. I am not really a red guy so very surprised to have done this. When I was buying it they offered to give me a rubber strap and I was trying to decide what color and my rep said red and I was like nah, then he put it on and I was like omg! I’ve tried mixing it up with other colors (I have taupe, blue, black and black gator) but the red looks the best.

Here’s what I found on my phone but I’ll be wearing it this week and post some better angles for ya

Here’s the taupe and blue. The black rubber is my second favorite after red. The black gator is way better than I expected, maybe tied for second. Then the blue and taupe are tied for last but not that bad and a fun change up once in a while.

@APhound Thanks for the pics! The red does look great (esp next to that Ferrari engine!), and I like the gray as well. I often wear my RM on red, something I never would have expected -- I'm normally more conservative in my color palette.

p.s. nice collection!

I found an old pic -- I doesn't show much of the strap, unfortunately. You can see another pic (not mine) at https://www.watchprosite.com/richard...94273.5329183/

Is the difference to the older 44mm visible? I have a thinnish wrist and have tried on different options. Ceramic bezel is preferred.

It is a subtle yet noticeable difference, both in appearance on the wrist and comfort.

I have a flat 7.5” wrist and used to have a 44 RG. It wasn’t comfortable as the crown dug into my wrist. Granted I’m a lefty and wear on right arm. Now I have a 43mm SS Taupe which wears night and day better. It’s been my daily all summer and super comfortable. The new quick change straps are an added bonus which I use often as well.

I was offered the black dial from my SA around this time last year but declined (initially tried on the taupe and thought it was a better look and told him I'd like to stick with the taupe). Since then I'm in waiting mode - am told it's gonna happen but not quite sure when.

So with prices declining I am now contemplating again whether to:
  • Get the black ROO from the secondary market (with prices declining I can now get it around 34-36k all in)
  • Wait for the taupe at some point from the boutique but be prepared to fork over close to 48k after tax

Looking for some opinions and ideally also some pics on the wrist to help me decide, also in terms of how different straps look on these pieces. I am not sure I am a fan of leather/black (though I've never seen real life pics), but not sure if taupe/taupe is a daily either (one TRF member had a taupe/grey combo though that looked fantastic)...
The taupe one was just posted on MODA (11 hours ago) for $34,450. Big discount off retail

This is under US$30k in Singapore now. PM if you want help finding one.

Do not pay retail for this!
