Tell us what you do ultimately, but for me, that watch would be a pass only because it lacks the fluted bezel. The smooth bezel (while it looks nice) is seen on the OP and I would rather have that bezel on that watch vs a DJ

Dave posted this today in the WRUW thread. Look how stunning it looks. A Datejust doesn’t have to be jubilee and fluted to look good.

If it was me I’ll pass because I prefer the fluted with jubilee on this particular model.

I owned the DJ2 verison of this. It was a great watch, but ultimately it didn’t last.

Me personally….I’d want the jubilee/fluted. Your preference is what counts

As always, buying a watch is a personal decision only you can make.

Having said that, yes, I would buy it. The blue dial is still in demand and selling above retail. If you dislike it after buying it resale risk shouldn’t be significant.

And by agreeing to buy it you can build up some brownie points with the dealer. Despite the recent market weakness having a good dealer rapport is a valuable asset.

I think is a classic and I like that blue dial, The DJ you can wear with anything, jeans , suit anything. Make sure it something you like and will wear. Or wait for the one you want , impulse buys are never a good idea.

Cheers,

If it's not what I'm looking for, it's an easy pass.
I wouldn't buy just because something is offered.

I know I would pass. 2 or 3 weeks ago the Rolex boutique in Orlando called me to see if I wanted a Sub Date that came in, I didn’t and neither did my husband. The AD was a bit surprised. We have purchased many Rolex’s there, two earlier in the year. The shortage has allowed me to discover IWC, Omega , Cartier, GS and Breitlings wonderful Navitimer. Much more interesting watches and just as good or better than Rolex. Rolex has just become too common, for me. ( who turns down a sub date! I know )

I like it, but the question is do you? My opinion is it would make a nice addition to your collection. If it sings to you, get it. Your money, your choice.

Have a white dial Roman DJ41 on Oyster with smooth bezel. I really like the Oyster with smooth set up. It is a bit more sporty than the Jubilee fluted which I also own and love. Kind of modern as well.

Unsure of your collection, but I really like the watch you've been offered.

First Rolex in 2018 as well.

Wouldn't trade it for anything.

So versatile.

Smooth/oyster can go casual or go perfect under the cuff with a suit.
