Received my first Patek from the AD!!

I first saw this watch 7 years ago; didn't have the purchasing power to buy it at the time.
When I finally could, Pateks became unobtainable from the AD.
I remember Calatrava's were readily available in all ADs few years back.

I could have easily bought one off a used market, but I wanted to start my first Patek from the AD -- wasn't in a hurry.
When I gave my information a year ago to the AD, I really never expected a call back.
But, I just received a text a few days ago and picked up this 5227R today.
(First, I thought it was spam text lol)

Photos don't do justice.
Such a beautiful piece.

Congrats on the new watch... Just curious does yours have a slot on the left hand side of the case? I am assuming it is there to remove the bezel but wanted to double check... Thanks in advance!

An11/10 for the case with the case back and hidden hinge, the movement at 3.3mm thick, the simplicity of the dial etc. and in rose gold.

Enjoy wearing it.

Received my first Patek from the AD!!

Very nice. Congrats.

Calatravas have such elegant lines and proportions. Easy to love. And the 5227 has a key feature that few credit sufficiently.

The invisibly-hinged dust cover is an important emergency feature that no Rolex can match for adventurers.

Consider this...a story loosely based on true life...well, sort of...

You are hiking along a trail high in the mountains out of cellphone coverage. Your trusty Calatrava keeps perfect time and you know you won't get back as scheduled. A long night ensues - hardtack from your haversack and melted snow pools nourishing you while stranded on the ridgeline before the next day's sunrise.

Having been overdue at the check-in station for a day, the rangers launch an aerial search and rescue. You hear the helo's tracing a route up the trail from base camp - - but how to signal them of your whereabouts??? Aha!!!

You open the invisibly-hinged dust cover, and using its highly polished inner wall, you flash reflected sunlight to catch the spotter's eagle eyes. Disaster averted thanks to your trusty Calatrava 5227! Disaster averted due to your Calatrava!!!

OK...once upon a time, I know.
