Does $2795 seem like a square deal for an all original 1998 Sub no date in 9+/10 condition, with all paperwork, boxes, towel, and anchor? Watch was rarely worn and kept in a safe deposit box except when occasionally worn. The only drawback is that it has never been serviced.

(trying to get the pics included off an auction that's ended....grrrr)

Did you buy from a reputable seller?!

You are looking at 10+ year old watch. A service should run you $400-500. What is the partial serial number? COSC?

If you are happy with the purchase price, that is all that counts!

Non COSC, serial number U308xxx. Ebay purchase. We'll see how it goes when it arrives.

A good deal is a deal your happy with and the seller is happy with. As for the price opinions vary and if we could we would like to get them for next to nothing

Do your homework at what the final selling price has been recently if you want to be in that range.The lowest price doesn't always mean you got the best deal.

It has been my experience from cars-watches that the guys that dont know much about what they are buying and try to cut out a dealer or AD and go to an auction etc trying to get the cheapest price 99% always get burned and end up paying more to make it right.

This isnt in reference to the OP just in general when people buy something than ask was it a good deal.I have seen this so much lately.

. I did my due diligence as...diligently as I could, and perhaps foolishly looked for some additional guidance after the fact.

If the watch is as advertised, I am comfortable with my purchase. It will need a service, which is $400 or so, bringing my cost to $3200...not bad, afaict, for a mint non-COSC sub with all the trimmings. Surely a pro could do better, but I'm just an enthusiast, at this point.
