Dublin

Went to Dublin recently with the family and an amazing place. The people were friendly and couldn't believe how helpful the bus drivers were, stopping at stops that were not their stop to show us where to catch the next bus. Very expensive eating out but cheap on transport. I have never paid more than £5 for fish and chips and in Dublin £9.
I went to an AD Weir & Sons, very much like an old fashion bric and brac place. It sold all sorts and the way the watches were laid out it looked a bit like a secondhand watch dealer. Very different to the bright and modern boutique jewellers in the UK. Looked at a GMT IIc which after conversion a lot more than the UK.
Guinness Brewery was a great place to visit. Couldn't believe the founder secured a 9000 years lease at £45 a year in 1759, with no clause for rent increase. Who says the Irish people are th**K; wonder if it was an Irish person that sold to Guinness.
Another place worth a visit was Dublin Castle, 12 Euros for a family guided tour.

Of course the Irish are a friendly lot.

We know how to treat others and have a good time with a pint (or many)!

nice weather. Was there in feb this year for a weekend. The weather was carp for us, so we went for a day tour had a meal in town then stayed at Hilton Gor the rest of the weekend. Live band entertainment at the hotel bar was great.

Agreed on the rolex AD, kinda different to the uk ADs. They didnt have many stock back then.
