Breitling SuperOcean cira 1999-2000

I'm eyeing this Breitling SuperOcean being sold at TimeZone for about 1150 USD, shipped (insured) including paypal fees.

This seller is the second owner of the watch, and he only had it for 30 min and realized he doesn't need a 3rd SuperOcean Professional. Box and Papers are there plus it has been serviced by Breitling and has a stamp on the booklet indicating "maintenance".

I know Breitlings do not have great resale value but usually my watches are keepers. Any Breitling afficonados think this is a good deal and in terms of the superocean line, they good?

BTW, this is not the chronometer version.

Caseback has no markings etc.

Thanks.

Vernon

Unfortunately, from what I gather, they have fairly low resale value... I guess you'll only get 60% of what you paid for.

Even though they are great and durable watches.

SD slipped through my fingers. It will cost me an extra $3000 + my 14060. Mind you this SD was also used.

I'm currently looking into a SuperOcean and see how decent it is. It appears to be a tough watch as well.

That's a shame about the SD, Vernon Breitling makes a great watch though

That's too much to pay, Vernon. I think you'll enjoy the Breitling. As the others have said, the resale is poor, but if you intend on keeping it, what the heck....go for it!!

Good luck - JJ

It's a good price for a SuperOcean, Vernon. And if it's a keeper, who cares about resale value. Breitlings are very good watches. My Olympus is just about as accurate as my GMT (which is usually spot on). The SO is going to be a pretty substantial watch - more so than the SD would have been. So be prepared for that.

My choice - go for it.
