Help identifying this Seiko

Any idea which reference this is? Dial struck me as being a little different.

Went ahead and picked it up. 6309-7049 with an English/French day wheel. Looks like it’s in great shape and it is keeping decent time, but the service history is unknown.

Strap was falling apart. Ordered new spring bars and a DAL1BP strap, but I suspect it will be a little too stiff.

Cab anybody recommend a good Seiko watchmaker to service it? I’d rather not send it off to Seiko.

Does Seiko actually service the movements? I was under the impression that they swapped movements. Depends on what the OP wants.

Unsure, but the Seiko Service Center has a mostly terrible reputation, if forum posts are to be believed.

I did compile a short list of watchmakers who do specialize in Seiko. Some seem to be so busy that they’re not always taking on new work.

With that in mind, my suggestion would to see if a local AD would do the service. My AD sells everything from Hamilton and Seiko to Rolex. I’ve asked before and they are able to service everything sold in store. Best of luck. Please share your experiences with the service.
