This or that... from a less biased group
Maybe...
Ya, I know this is the Panerai forum, but I wanted another brand's fans POV. I currently own a PAM627, but also owned a 116710LN (Rolex GMT). Just sold GMT and looking to either pickup a two tone GMT 116713LN or the two tone Sky Dweller. Love the PAM627, that one seems have stuck around longer than most. Thoughts? Thanks! |

Another vote for the GMT.

Between these two, I would take the SkyDweller, but I would take a TT LN Submariner Date over both of them. Good luck with your choice.

The SkyDweller annual complication is very nice, but the GMT is much easier to “set and go”.
I prefer the simplicity and legibility of the GMT |

I would go Sky-Dweller but with the white dial and on jubilee.

I own sub date and Pam bitempo gmt.
My vote is easily 2 tone Rolex gmt. Very comfy, easy to read and still has that "dress diver" look. I've handled Sky dweller at my AD and didnt care for it ..almost looks like a Citizen ..lol. And I hear ya on the Pam....as of lately, I've been wearing my Pam a lot more than my sub. I just change straps on my Pam and it becomes a new watch . I already signed up for the batman gmt with my rep so once I get it, I'll sell my sub date. |

I don't care for GMT watches, but I think that one looks much better.

I own the SD in gold on OF. It's my second Sky D. It's not really top heavy at all in that configuration. I much prefer it to the awkward date setting of the GMT. It is so easy to set. Even if it's been sitting unworn it literally takes a few seconds to set it up correctly. I find the lack of appreciation for the SkyD is likely due to the conservative nature of the owners. The Sky D is perceived as too complex in comparison to the GMTs. I actually find them less so. I remember when they first came out there were those who questioned, "why do I need a month shown on my watch. I know what month it is." Clearly, they were missing the big picture.

Not quite certain why this group would be less biased. It's still part of TRF. I'm curious how many of the anti SkyD comments are from people who've actually owned on in the past.

A win-win situation, but in your shoes here I would go for the GMT Master II.

The two GMTs I own are the 233 and the Batman...the two best GMTs for those who travel a lot in my opinion.
