DJ2 service in OC/SoCal
My ‘16 116234 has suddenly stopped. I suspect mainspring broken. Would you send it to Rolex in LA(not driving up to the service center) OR does anyone have a recommendation for an independent servicer?

DJ2 service in OC/SoCal
I’ve had good experiences with Jostmar jewelers and watchmakers in Costa Mesa (inside South Coast Plaza) but they are swamped, so it’s gonna take a while to get it serviced.

I would contact RSC in Dallas and get the information to have the watch sent in. I do not think you will save enough money going elsewhere to justify it. The turn around times have gotten better based on some posts here. Good luck and a very cool watch.

Love the DJ2. Isn’t that the Phantom Dial?
You might want to get that cyclops changed as well. It looks like one of the years where they had the wrong mag of cyclops fitted. I have three DJ2. One of them had the same issue. RSC swapped out the crystal for no charge. |

Does the local Rolex AD need to facilitate this, or it is something we could do ourselves and send directly to RSC in Dallas. Not sure if I read/or heard there is no longer a RSC in California.

I have used Jewelers On Time in Newport Beach and I love them. Kenny and Victor (twins brothers running the place) are top notch dudes and their service department is fantastic.
Note - Their website super outdated, so don't judge them on that. Go to the actual store and you'll be presently surprised.

Thx all! Will keep these in mind for my next service.
& I sent it to RSC Dallas via a local AD/jeweler. Good to know they’ll replace the crystal if it’s not right! Fortuitous Bonus Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Jewelers on Time in Newport. Talk to victor or Kenny. Great guys and longtime WIS/collectors. Always fun talking watches with them and they have Rolex trained watchmakers on staff.

Just picked up the piece from Fredric Rubel in Laguna-roughly 5 days after its return from RSC Dallas. RSC replaced crown & crystal & did movement “service”. No one can tell me from the notes why the watch stopped working. Cost $997
My DJ2 looks absolutely polished to brand new perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I just got my 114060 back from service for a similar issue. RSC is always tight lipped about what the issue is |

Any Rolex AD will facilitate sending to RSC on the customers behalf. I go to RSC directly but I live only an hour away

I would take it to the RSC at 9420 Wilshire in Beverly Hills and have it done there. I live a couple of miles from there.

They get a watch in, doesn't work; full service which includes new worn or broken parts, done.

All depends on the price the RSC is charging and the hassle of getting to the RSC and all that.
The same expertise is possessed by these individual master watchmakers who will do the same quality work for much less. In fact I would take it to these small watch shops like Hayes and Todd in Costa Mesa because you know one to one who is doing the work and if any issues, you can go back. Just make sure who ever you take to has certification/expertise/reputation for fixing Rolex watches. |
