Panerai Special Editions?

After having recently purchasing my Panerais, I realized that each is a special/limited edition. Is this how all Panerai watches are produced or am I just "lucky?" Not being really familiar with the way the company works, it seems unlikely that I'd have three of three.

They are all "counted" éditions, however, there are more special series for specific workshops or military units, or famous people (for example Panerai ambassadors).

So are they released in batches of limited builds?

Each year a specific number of watches are made. That number varies from year to year. The letter designates the year. Then there is the designation of the watch number for that year. N395/1500 would mean that in 2015(N) Panerai produced 1500 of that model and that watch is number 395 of that series. Not sure if N is actually 2015, I lost track. Many folks here will now the corresponding letter for each year. All watches, including limited editions are designated this way.often the limited edition watches came with a scroll designating such.

Congrats Lee nice trio!!!

A photo that I care a lot about, taken in New York at a market with a Panerista vendor with a ARKTOS Mike Horn. It was an immediate mutual feeling.
I had a PAM 177

Some are true limited editions and come with a parchment scroll with hand written reference serial and production number (eg - 1 of xxx) within the lot. These are the ones I have.

However, I stopped buying Panerai after these, so about 6 years ago, because they began callously abusing the “limited” moniker and as such us aficionados. Many of us who loved the brand moved on. I still have all these and love them, mind.
